Quando i vigneti sono già verdi, a maggio, si procede con la potatura verde, che contribuisce a concentrare lo sviluppo vegetativo sugli organi che costituiscono la struttura produttiva della pianta. È tempo di eliminare le gemme doppie (spollonatura), i rami che si sono biforcati, le foglie in eccesso. Questo garantisce anche un’equilibrata circolazione della linfa, una migliore maturazione delle uve e una corretta esposizione solare per i grappoli.

L’albero della “Vincaia” (salice antico) è una presenza magica nella tenuta, una sorta di monumento vivente che presiede l’antica Vigna dell’Impero in omaggio alla storia del vino e della viticoltura. Si tratta della tradizionale tecnica di legatura delle viti con tralci di salice o vimini, che era pressoché scomparsa, ma oggi siamo tornati a questa pratica di legatura ecosostenibile, soprattutto per il nostro vitigno Vigna dell’Impero. #tenutasetteponti The “Vincaia” tree (old willow tree) is a magical presence in the estate, it’s a sort of living monument presiding over the ancient Vigna dell’Impero as a tribute to the history of wine and viticulture. We are talking about the traditional technique of binding canes with willow shoots or osiers, that had all but disappeared, but nowadays we have gone back to this ecosustainable fastening practice, above all for our Vigna dell’Impero vine.
